More about Dr. Matthew Kalmar:

Dr. Matthew Kalmar was born and raised in Huntington. His love of medicine started early in life being raised by parents in the medical field, his mother a nurse and father a Podiatrist. He grew up attending Harborfields in which he spent grades k-12 as he graduated in 2001. Dr. Kalmar spent the next 4 years earning his Bachelors degree in Health Sciences from the University of Florida, home of the Gators. After his short 4 years in the sunshine state he returned to NY to attend the New York college of Podiatric Medicine in which his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) was earned in 2010. His travels then brought him back to Long Island where his Residency was performed at the Northport VA Medical center, South Side Hospital and Smithtown Surgical Center. Dr. Matthew Kalmar joined Kalmar Family Podiatry once finishing residency where he has been practicing ever since. Dr. Kalmar strongly believes in not only treating his patients to the best of his ability, but educating them to the best of his ability about their condition. He says an educated patient is a compliant patient, and a compliant patient is a healthy patient. The website is an ever growing wealth of information so please feel free to surf around.

More about Dr. Garrett Kalmar

Garrett Kalmar, DPM is excited to be back home after working as an associate in Columbus, OH. In Ohio, he treated complex wounds in a renowned wound care center, performed surgeries in an out-patient surgical center and worked closely with two hospital systems.

He believes the most important aspects of providing quality care are listening to the patient and their needs. This is done through patient education, establishing a relationship with the patient and involving patients in their treatment plan all while providing a safe and effective evidence-based approach.

When he is not working Garrett Kalmar enjoys spending time with his family, traveling and outdoor activities such as skiing, hiking, and kayaking.
